Weather Outlook for Your Road Trip to Knoxville to Cheer on Bama
The Alabama Crimson Tide is on the road this weekend headed to Knoxville, Tennessee, or as my friends like to call the town, ObKNOXville, spinning the word obnoxious. If you are making the 5-hour drive or catching a flight to cheer on Bama, here is what you can expect from the weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, Tennessee, on Friday you can expect sunny skies “with a high near 70.” Also, there will be a “light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.” That night it will be “mostly clear with a low around 49.” There will be a “south win around 5 mph becoming calm.”
Saturday Game Day
Number 3 – Alabama Crimson Tide will be in Knoxville to take on the Number 6 Tennessee Volunteers. James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said the “sky will be partly to mostly sunny; about 77 degrees at kickoff, falling to near 70 by the final whistle.”
That evening there is a “30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2 am.” This means “mostly cloudy, with a low around 57,” said the National Weather Service in Morristown.
As you travel back to Alabama, you can expect a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 pm.” Also, there will be mostly cloudy conditions “with a high near 73. Chance of precipitation is 40%.”
It looks like you need to pack your fall outfit and grab your umbrella for your late-night outings on Saturday and your drive back to the Yellowhammer State.
