The Alabama Crimson Tide's scheduled basketball game with the Houston Cougars has been cancelled due to the Cougars dealing with COVID-19. The Crimson Tide will instead host Western Kentucky on Saturday to ensure a game is still played. The game will be at 1:00 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum.

After a long offseason full of excitement and questions, the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team hit the hardwood for the first time in the 2020-21 season. The Crimson Tide welcomed in-state opponent Jacksonville State for the hope opener and sent the Gamecocks home with a 81-57 defeat.

The Initial USA Men's Basketball Coaches Poll was released today and the Alabama Crimson Tide was ranked No. 25 in the nation. Alabama was one of three SEC schools to make the poll with Kentucky being ranked ninth and Tennessee being ranked 14th.

Alabama basketball is set to tip-off its season on Nov. 25 against Jacksonville State. This was announced along with the full non-conference schedule two days ago with the promise that the SEC portion of the schedule would be announced soon. Today the SEC unveiled the full conference schedule after alterations were made due to COVID-19. Alabama will open up conference play on Dec. 29 at home against Ole Miss.

Alabama basketball is officially underway in 21 days. Oats enters his second year with a roster that he can call his own. The Crimson Tide has depth and experience on the roster leading to high expectations for this year's team.
