Brookwood, located in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, is a perfect rural town. Incorporated in September 1977, Brookwood has a population of 2,029 – an ideally quiet, yet friendly place.
Its history is rich with a robust economic background, as the town was originally a mining settlement. Starting in 1880, Brookwood has been home to mining communities. In 1920, there was a strike that killed many miners.
