Former Alabama Quarterback On The Move Again
As the 2022 football season comes to its conclusion players are beginning to think about their athletic futures.
Former Hewitt-Trussville Husky and Alabama quarterback Paul Tyson has decided to enter the transfer portal after just one season with the Arizona State Sun Devils, according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.
Tyson was a 4-star prospect out of Hewitt-Trussville in the class of 2019. Besides being a high-level prospect, most Alabama fans knew Tyson as the great-grandson of Alabama coaching legend Paul "Bear" Bryant.
He spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa, making appearances in 13 games as both the backup quarterback and on special teams. He completed 10-of-16 passes for 150 yards while at The Capstone.
Tyson did not record any statistics for the Sun Devils in 2022 but did see playing time in one contest. He was beaten out for the starting quarterback role by Florida-transfer Emory Jones and sophomore Trenton Bourget.
The Sun Devils fired head coach Herm Edwards in the middle of the season and ultimately finished the year 3-9, finishing 10th in the Pac-12.
Tyson enters his fifth year of college next fall, meaning the Alabama-native likely only has one season of eligibility remaining.
