Former Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evens was cut by the Cowboys earlier this morning following being arrested in Frisco, Texas, Tuesday on a possession of marijuana charge. Evans was reportedly in possession of two to four ounces of marijuana, per the Frisco police department.

The Cowboys activated offensive tackle Matt Waletzko to fill the open roster spot.

Evans played in nine games, starting one for the Cowboys this year. Evans recorded nine tackles during that span.

Evans also made contributions on special teams.
