A driver crashed through the store front of the Rite Aid in Northport after losing control of the car, leaving one employee injured.

Authorities report, the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.  However, an employee at the McFarland Boulevard store was transported to DCH.

As seen in a photo shared by Northport Fire Rescue on Facebook, the car ended up going completely into the store, knocking over a few displays before stopping.

Comments on the Northport Fire Rescue Facebook page about the accident, say the driver was an elderly lady.  Also shared on the page, the employee suffered a fractured pelvic, fractured vertebrae (lower) and 4 crack ribs.  Our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Some suggest, this kind of accident draws attention to the need for concrete poles to be installed in front of stores to help prevent such accidents.
