Tuscaloosa Mud Park Open Now, Offering New Weekend Off-Roading Experience
A new park open now in Tuscaloosa is offering unprecedented opportunities for anyone who loves to go off-roading and doesn't mind getting dirty doing it.
Since their grand opening earlier this summer, Tuscaloosa Mud Park has been allowing drivers to bring their side-by-side, four-wheeler, dirt-bike or off-road vehicle and get them filthy on 10 different tracks of 400 feet or longer.
The new park is open on 10 acres at 8132 Old Marion Road, not far from Hillcrest High School and a short drive from downtown Tuscaloosa.
Marketing Manager Cheyenne Murray said similar concepts are usually centered around mud riding on longer trails, but the centralized tracks at Tuscaloosa Mud Park create a safer atmosphere for thrill-seekers while keeping everything that makes off-road parks fun.
The tracks will feature mud pits, rough terrains and genuine cars to crush, Murray said, and the park has a free-style water pit and 100-foot slip-and-slide for visitors to check out.
Admission is $5 whether you're driving or spectating, and vehicle registration is another $10, which Murray said makes a Saturday afternoon at the Mud Park an affordable activity for almost anyone.
The Park is open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. every Saturday and 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. every Sunday. According to their Facebook, the first half of both shifts will be considered "Family Ride Time," but coolers and alcoholic beverages will be allowed but tightly policed from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
