Court records indicate a warrant was filed for Gaines' arrest on the charge in February 2021, but was not served until this week.

Sheriff's deputies with the assistance of Tuscaloosa Police officers we able to re-capture Gaines within minutes but not before the foot chase was photographed and drew attention on social media Thursday morning.

Gaines, a 28-year-old Tuscaloosa woman, was returned to the county jail and is expected to face additional charges for her escape attempt.
