Northport Man Dies After Friday Crash in Tuscaloosa County
A Northport man died this weekend following a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County that happened Friday afternoon.
Trooper Jaylon James, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said 72-year-old Michael Channel was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle, which left Tuscaloosa County Road 140 and struck an embankment, then overturned.

James said first responders arrived at the scene not long after the wreck, which occurred around 4:30 p.m. Friday, and Channel was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
He died Saturday, according to the Troopers.
James said the Friday crash occurred on Tuscaloosa County 140, near Sipsey Valley Road, roughly two miles southeast of Buhl.
No other information was available when the Troopers confirmed the traffic fatality on Sunday.
