They found 37-year-old Otis Keon Coleman, who was dead on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the VCU, said family members reported that Coleman’s nephew, Keyontae Coleman had killed him.

The younger man was found and detained by Northport Police soon after, and Kennedy said the VCU is conducting the investigation and has now charged 27-year-old Keyontae Franshon Coleman with one count of Murder.

The alleged shooter has been committed to jail with no bond per Aniah's Law until a judge's hearing.

The motive is still under investigation.

The homicide is the 23rd the VCU has investigated in Tuscaloosa County this year.
