A smaller, leaner version of one of America's most popular chicken wing chains is coming soon to Northport, city councilor Jeff Hogg announced Wednesday.

Hogg, who chairs the council's retail committee and serves as its president, shared the news on Facebook Wednesday.

According to Hogg, Buffalo Wild Wings GO is coming soon to the North Square Plaza shopping center off McFarland Boulevard next to City Hall.

The GO concept was launched in May 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and features a limited menu in a drastically smaller space designed specifically for delivery and takeout orders.

Earlier this month, BWW celebrated the grand opening of their 50th GO location.

“We’re excited to celebrate this significant milestone for Buffalo Wild Wings GO,” says Vice President of Buffalo Wild Wings GO Anthony Rothrauff said in a press release about the milestone. “GO is a natural complement to our existing sports bar presence, providing additional consumer reach with a convenient takeout and delivery experience. Over the past three years, GO has expanded into ten states with a variety of formats, and we’re enthusiastic about the growth on the horizon.”

Typically, the GO restaurants still offer traditional and boneless wings, chicken tenders, a suite of side dishes and all 23 sauces and rubs you can find at one of their full-size operations.

Hogg said the Buffalo Wild Wings GO will set up shop next to the Teriyaki Madness announced last month and Guthrie's.
