Expect Wet Weather, Marginal Risk for Gusty Winds in West Alabama
Be sure to take your umbrella because you should expect “periods of rain across Alabama through tonight with a cloudy sky,” said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.
This afternoon, stay weather aware because the Storm Prediction Center has our coverage area under a “marginal risk” which is a level 1 out of 5 for severe storms.
Spann said that a “warm front will be in the area and a few storms could produce gusty winds near the boundary.” Also, as this system approaches our area there is a relatively low risk for hail as well.
Today, statewide there is a variance in temperatures. Spann said that the highs will be in the “60s over North Alabama, but low 80s are likely again for the far southern counties of the state.”
