A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Counties Under the Freeze Warning

The counties under the “Freeze Warning” are Autauga, Bibb, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Tallapoosa, and Tuscaloosa.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that “the coldest air so far season will roll into the Deep South today, with falling temperatures and an icy north wind. Sub-freezing lows are ahead tomorrow morning. The pattern favors below average temperatures for at least the next 2 weeks.”
