The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a “Frost Advisory” for Sunday, November 24, from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m.

Temperatures as low as 33 will result in frost formation.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a “Freeze Warning” for Sunday, November 24, from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 are expected.

Frost and freezing conditions can destroy crops, harm sensitive plants, and damage unprotected outdoor pipes. Act now to shield delicate plants and secure outdoor plumbing from the cold.

Advice from the National Weather Service in Birmingham: “To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes, they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those with in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.”
