“We welcome everyone—families, students, educators, faith leaders, and community advocates—to join us as we honor this significant day,” said Rev. James Williams, President.
This free event will be on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with open seating at The Historical Bailey Tabernacle CME Church, 1117 23rd Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, where Rev. Anderson T. Graves II serves as pastor.

“Juneteenth represents both a painful legacy and a powerful testimony of resilience. Through this film, we aim to educate the public on its historical and spiritual significance, promote dialogue across generations, and inspire renewed commitment to justice, equity, and liberation,” said Dr. Chad L. Jackson, Vice President. “We believe this experience will serve as a catalyst for ongoing learning and community-building across Tuscaloosa County and beyond.”
The documentary “Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom” is a compelling 75-minute film, and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Tuscaloosa County Chapter intends to help “educate, inspire, and strengthen the community’s ongoing commitment to justice and equity,” said the press release.
