From all over West Alabama people are consuming more and more audio wherever they happen to be.

Audio is hot right now. So are some local personalities heard via FM radio, smart phones, tablets and any device that can access the internet.

Who is drawing in the biggest audiences?

Well, the new report from ratings authority, Nielsen Audio, is out now.

It's like a report card or the College Football Playoff for the Audio/Radio industry and impacts the way advertising is sold.

In the new Fall 2022 report,  the station with the #1 rank among all listeners 12 and older, is Urban Adult WTUG-FM (92.9) with a double-digit ratings share in Tuscaloosa and West Alabama.

Urban/Hip Hop WALJ-FM (105.1) is second overall, Gospel WTSK-AM (93.3) is 3rd and Country WFFN-FM (95.3) is 4th with Country WTXT-FM (98.1) rounding out the top 5 stations in the region.

Local media company, Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa, seems to have a lock on the marketplace with four of the top five most-listened to radio/audio brands.

In specific times of the day, Steve & DC on WFFN-FM (95.3) are ranked #1 with Adults 18 to 34 in Mornings (6-10am) and performed well with both men and women listeners in the Fall.

Afternoon (3-7pm) audiences saw a battle between WTUG-FM (92.9) and WALJ-FM (105.1) pm hosts Mary K. and "The Big Dawg" Dre Day for the most listeners during the drive home.

Dre Day on WALJ-FM was #1 with Adults 18 to 34 and Mary K. on WTUG-FM (92.9) was in the #1 spot with Adults 25 to 54 in the afternoon.

"Wild Bill" on WFFN-FM (95.3) was tied for #2 with Mary K. on WTUG-FM (92.9) with Adults aged 18 to 34. Next, in afternoons was "Kato" on WQRR-FM (101.7) with Adults 18 to 34.

In most audience groups across the report, three stations seem to always be at or near the top, WTUG-FM (92.9), WFFN-FM (95.3) & WALJ-FM (105.1).
