Celebrate Black History Month at the Weaver-Bolden Library's second annual event, which will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 8. The library is located at 2522 Lanier Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. This event is free and open to the public.

This year’s theme, “African Americans and Labor,” honors the enduring legacy of work that has shaped our nation’s history.

Event T-Shirt on Sale

A Tuscaloosa City School student created the design for the event t-shirt, which was sponsored by the Tuscaloosa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. T-shirts will be sold during our celebration.

According to the Weaver-Bolden Library Facebook page, you are encouraged to attend to “learn more about the unique history of African American labor in Tuscaloosa and find joy in the celebration! Visit with community groups will begin at Noon, and speakers and presentations will begin at 1 p.m.”
