Timeline

James Spann, ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “Confidence is high that a dynamic storm system will bring the threat of severe thunderstorms to the Deep South as the weekend begins.”

The system will track across Louisiana and Mississippi on Friday and then enter Alabama on Saturday, with impacts lasting through Sunday morning.

Risk Areas

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a large section of Alabama under an Enhanced Risk, a level 3 out of 5 for severe weather. Outside of that zone, the risk is 2 out of 5.

The Townsquare Media Coverage Areas are included in the Enhanced Risk area. These counties include Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.
