Damaging Winds, Heavy Rain, and Lightning Threat Across Alabama
The Townsquare Media Weather Center has been closely monitoring the possibility of severe weather for our area today. This is part of a larger weather system that has been in action since earlier this week.

As you see here, the swath of states impacted by this latest round of developing weather conditions stretches from the Southern region, moving up along the East Coast.
What Does This Mean for West Alabama?
Today, June 19, our area can expect the risk of damaging winds up to 60 mph.
The Storm Prediction Center has a good portion of Alabama under a “marginal risk.”
The overall timing of this incoming storm system is between “8 a.m. and 7 p.m.,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “This activity will drop slowly southward this morning, with potential for heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.”
