Bryant High Students Compete in National Crosley Art Contest
Students at Paul W. Bryant High School are participating in a nationwide art competition.
Crosley Radio is a leading innovator in the record player industry, recognized for its blend of retro designs with modern technology. Crosley launched a national art contest where they send participating schools a Cruiser Record Player on which they could draw, paint, or more to create a design the world has never seen before. The schools get to keep the record player along with donated vinyl.

This year’s theme, “Band Together,” encourages students to interpret unity, collaboration, culture, and the power of music in their own visual styles.
Each school submitted:
· 7 images of their customized Crosley Cruiser turntable
· A short design statement explaining their inspiration
Paul W. Bryant High School is proud to participate in the nationwide Crosley Custom Cruiser Contest, where students from over 200 high schools across the U.S. have transformed the iconic Crosley Cruiser Record Player into original works of art. The Stampede community is invited to support Bryant students by voting from November 3–7.
To vote, you can visit crosleyradio.com/cruiser-contest and vote once per day in each region.
“We wanted this contest to encourage communities to come together to lift up young artists,” said Keith Starr, President of Crosley. “When people vote, they’re not just choosing a design, they’re showing students that their creativity matters.”
Bryant released a statement about their students in the contest and their entries.
"Our Design for the 2025 Crosley Custom Cruiser Contest is based on the theme “Band Together.” We wanted our record player to show how music brings people together and how creativity can connect different kinds of people, just like a band does.
We used different shades of blue all over the outside of the record player to represent harmony and movement. The swirls of blue are meant to look like sound waves or the flow of a song, showing that even though every shade is different, they all work together to make something beautiful. The piano keys along the sides remind us that music is something everyone can understand, no matter where they come from.
On the top, we painted two hands of slightly different skin tones reaching toward each other with a drumstick in between them. This was inspired by the Creation of Adam, but we changed it to represent unity through music instead of just creation. It's our way to show rhythm and collaboration that can connect people who might not normally come together. When you open the record player there is a bright orange and yellow ombre sun with elements of music in black line work. The sun stands for joy, energy, and the shared feeling music gives us when we play or listen together.
Overall, our design shows that when we band together through music, art, or friendship, we create something stronger, brighter, or more meaningful than we ever could alone."
A Crosley panel will evaluate creativity, craftsmanship, and thematic storytelling to select the Grand Prize Winner.
