This is racist.

#RacismIsEverywhere

RACIST!!!!!

Is racism really everywhere in everything?

A photo has caused an entire game in a 100-year rivalry to be cancelled.

The photo was of a "safari" style costume day at Gordo High School.

It included animals and bananas. One of the animals was a monkey.

Some people got very upset about this photo and called it "very racist".

I believe we are in dangerous territory, and it is incumbent upon us all to be heard on these matters.

We seem to inject racism into whatever random thing we choose to inject racism.

It diminishes the ACTUAL cases of racist behavior in society.

YOU CAN'T WIN

Nobody can win in today's world.

I could cite hundreds of examples that show how impossible it is to make EVERYONE happy or agree.

You do something with a good heart and the right intentions, and you can EASILY be savagely attacked and chewed up by a mob online.

Here's what some people in West Alabama and across the state are saying about the Gordo/Pickens County controversy.

WHAT SOME ARE SAYING

Suzan Perkins Wright

Racist? Where? That is pitiful. I imagine it’s their Homecoming week and each day was different theme dress up. Shame on the person in the leadership position to allowed this to happen to these kids.

Emily Espy Wilder

The person who took this seriously as a race issue needs to grow up. The school looks ridiculous for canceling it. Calling someone racist holds zero meaning now because it’s used as a weapon so frequently.

Am I having a stroke…. in installments?
I’ve looked at this picture a dozen times and can’t figure out what I’m supposed to be seeing that would be “offensive”.
