Alabama struggled offensively, striking out in double digits and managing only four hits. Third baseman Jason Torres provided the lone highlight with a solo home run in the top of the second inning. Otherwise, the Tide could not generate any additional runs in the 4-1 loss.

Alabama relied on its pitching for much of the game, with the bullpen holding Troy scoreless and allowing just one hit through the first six innings. The Tide used six pitchers, with JT Blackwood starting and throwing 4 innings, allowing one hit and striking out two batters.

In the fifth inning, Alabama turned to Austin Morris and Evan Steckmesser. Morris recorded two outs but was removed after walking two batters. Steckmesser finished the inning without allowing a run but struggled in the sixth, unable to record the final out and walking two batters.

Associate head coach and pitching coach Jason Jackson brought in sophomore reliever Connor Lehman to end the sixth, which he did successfully. However, Lehman ran into trouble in the seventh, allowing two runners to reach base on a walk and an infield single by Steven Meier. Sam Mitchell entered with runners on first and second and no outs, allowing a run to score on a wild pitch. Mitchell then surrendered a double to Aaron Piasecki, driving in two more runs and giving the Trojans a 3-1 lead heading into the eighth inning.

Owen Sarna pitched the eighth inning but was unable to finish it, recording two outs before giving up three runs (two earned), three hits, and a walk. Bobby Alcock came in to get the final out, but by then, Alabama trailed 6-1 going into the ninth.

Alabama went down in order at the top of the ninth, unable to mount a comeback. Sophomore reliever Connor Lehman took the loss, his first of the season, dropping his record to 1-1.

With the loss, Alabama falls to 32-17 on the season. The Crimson Tide will travel to Columbia this weekend to face South Carolina in their final road series of the regular season.
