
SEC to Release Conference Opponents for Initial 9 Game Schedule
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — As the world of college athletics continues to evolve, so does the Southeastern Conference, which recently opted to switch from an eight-game to a nine-game conference schedule.
According to CBS Sports' Brandon Marcello, the league will announce every opponent for all 16 teams for its new nine-game schedule in 2026 next Tuesday.

The SEC will also announce three permanent rival games or "annual opponents" for each program, which the league will review every four years.
