The twin sister of Alabama freshman quarterback Keelon Russell passed away this week, according to On3 Sports.

On3 Sports reports that Kierston Russell had joined Keelon at the University of Alabama as a freshman after their recent graduation from Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas.

 

Keelon and Kierston Russell danced on stage in May during their graduation. The full details of Kierston Russell's passing are not available.

 

Keelon Russell posted a message to his Instagram story with a pair of hands making a heart. The message from Lovodges Heggins said, "Stay strong for mom. My prayers and Thoughts are with y'all."

 

The Tuscalosoa Violent Crimes Unit, which investigates all deaths outside of a hospital setting in Tuscaloosa County, declined to comment, saying the matter was non-criminal.

 

Keelon Russell, a five-star prospect from Duncanville, Texas, committed and signed with Alabama. His twin sister, Kierston Russell, was set to join him at the University of Alabama.
