What is Alabama’s Krispy Package and How Does it Involve Kadyn Proctor?
Alabama starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor has turned into an all-around weapon for Alabama over the last two weeks, taking a screen play 11 yards and being tackled just before the goal line in Alabama's 24-21 win over Georgia. In Alabama's 30-14 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday, Proctor lined up as a running back and took a handoff for a first down conversion.

It's the latest wrinkle in Ryan Grubb's offense for Alabama, and Proctor seems to be enjoying toting the rock for the Crimson Tide. Opposing defenses might not enjoy it as much when they see a 6-foot-7, 360-pound left tackle barreling toward them with bad intentions. For Alabama's players, they enjoy seeing the big guy get his opportunity, and the package that lines up Proctor as a skill player has earned its own name, according to quarterback Ty Simpson.
"Yeah, Krispy," Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson said, "Because he said his name was Krispy Kreme."
There's no way Alabama actually has a package named Krispy Kreme, right?
"Yeah, Krispy, because of all the doughnuts he eats," Simpson said. He also added a caveat to the comment: "Don't tell him I said that."
So, if you see Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor around Tuscaloosa, don't tell him what Simpson said. Wide receiver Ryan Williams also mentioned that Proctor has been talking smack to him, saying he's got better hands than the sophomore wideout. "I mean, he's 100% on the catch ratio," Williams said.
We'll see what else Grubb has cooked up for Proctor when Alabama takes on Missouri this Saturday, October 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CT.
