Five-Star Cornerback Jorden Edmonds Officially Signs with Alabama Football
Alabama's first five-star commitment of the 2026 recruiting class has made it official, signing with the Alabama Crimson Tide on Early Signing Day.

Jorden Edmonds, a five-star cornerback from Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia, was the Crimson Tide's first five-star commitment of 2026, committing to the Crimson Tide on March 26, 2025. He's a 6-foot-3, 175-pound cornerback, ranked as the No. 17 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, the No. 1 cornerback, and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia. His primary recruiter was Alabama defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator Maurice Lnguist.
Edmonds was a two-sport athlete in high school, playing both football and basketball. As a junior in 2024, Edmonds was a two-way player for Sprayberry, credited with 35 tackles and three pass breakups while hauling in 35 receptions for 670 yards and four touchdowns offensively.
His father, Chris Edmonds, is a former NFL linebacker/fullback, playing with the West Virginia Mountaineers from 1998-2000 before signing a UDFA contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.
247 Sports national analyst Hudson Standish compared Edmonds to former Clemson Tiger star cornerback Nate Wiggins in his scouting evaluation.
"Prototypical boundary corner verified above 6-foot-2.5, 175 pounds with elite length for the position. Two-way snaps at cornerback and receiver, above-the-rim basketball tape, and elite combine testing metrics cement Edmonds as one of the most athletic defensive backs in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Followed up an impressive week of work as an underclassman at the Navy All-American Bowl with an "Alpha Dog" performance at the Under Armour Atlanta camp. Smooth mover who can flip his hips with ease in coverage, experienced playing a variety of different coverage schemes, but excels in off-man coverage. Ball production doesn't jump off the page, but has consistently proven to be tough to beat at the catch point on both sides of the ball. Competitive temperament is ideal, constantly battles for positioning, maintains phase well, and uses the sideline to his advantage as a defender. At this stage of the evaluation process stacks up as one of the top cornerbacks in the country. Should be viewed as a traits-heavy boundary cornerback with the potential to shut down an entire side of the field for a college football playoff contender and blossom into an early round NFL Draft selection."
