Is Jalen Milroe Playing Injured?
On Saturday, Alabama fell to 5-2 on the season, losing to the Tennessee Volunteers, 24-17. Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe completed just 55.6% of his passes for 239 yards, one touchdown, and two picks. Milroe was sacked three times by the Volunteers and had just 11 yards on 14 carries for the Crimson Tide.
Milroe looked uncharacteristic in the game, which begs the question, is Milroe injured?

On Monday, Alabama captain Tyler Booker was asked by The Next Round if Milroe was playing at 100%.
Booker immediately answered, "Jalen Milroe is 100%."
He followed up his emphatic answer with some clarification,
"Just thinking about it, me just saying - I think I answered it a little too quickly," Booker said. "Nobody is ever going to be 100 percent. Nobody is ever 100 percent. I'm hurting right now. Playing football in the SEC, you're never going to be 100 percent. What I meant to say is Jalen, he's on the field and he's going to be able to do everything in his power to help us win that game."
"Sorry I rushed that answer that question and didn't give it my full thought," Booker said. "You're never going to be 100 percent playing football in the SEC. When you're on that field, you're giving your all.
"I just didn't want to put a narrative out there about Jalen that could have been spun a certain way."
Milroe has not been listed on any of the SEC availability reports this season, and neither he nor Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has made a statement on Milroe's health.
The SEC availability report, new for the 2024 season, includes a statement of "a duty to act in good faith" including "An institution must take extra precautions to act in good faith to accurately disclose the status of a high-profile student-athlete (e.g., starting quarterback, leading scorer on the basketball team, or best hitter on the baseball team)."
If Milroe is listed on the availability report this week against Missouri, it would explain the struggles he had against Tennessee in Saturday's loss.
The SEC Availability Report is only mandatory for SEC vs. SEC games, with reports being released around 7:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a final update released 90 minutes before the kickoff of SEC games.
Alabama will have to release an availability report leading up to games against Missouri on Oct. 26, LSU on Nov. 9, Oklahoma on Nov. 23, and Auburn on Nov. 30.
Alabama will not release an injury report ahead of the game against Mercer on Nov. 16.
