Alabama’s Justice Haynes Following Alabama’s Fourth Quarter Comeback Victory Over South Carolina
Alabama running back Justice Haynes spoke with the media following Alabama's 27-25 victory, which saw the Crimson Tide come back from a 19-14 hole in the fourth quarter. Justice Haynes carried for 26 yards and one touchdown to help carry the Tide to victory.
Despite Alabama's fourth-quarter deficit, Haynes and his teammates remained confident in the team's ability to win. Haynes also states that South Carolina was a very good team and that he and his team "respected" the Gamecocks before eventually winning, stating, "What more could you ask for? "We're up 1-0."
Alabama's running back stated that he believes the Tide has a very "balanced offense" and is very proud of the Tide's runningbacks' ability to get physical and set the tone early in the game, as Alabama did in the first half with Jalen Milroe and Haynes scoring touchdowns on the ground.
When asked how meaningful this victory is for the Tide after losing to Vanderbilt last week, Haynes responded, "It's hard to win in the SEC and that they (South Carolina) were a very good team and we took care of it today, that's all you can ask," adding, "a win is a win."
Justice Haynes discussed adversity, adding that the tide "had a lot of adversity last week," and that he "loves the way that the guys have responded this week, and we gotta keep that momentum moving forward."
This was something the Tide faced in today's game against the Gamecocks, with South Carolina leading 19-14 entering the fourth quarter, but the Crimson Tide held on and won, improving to 5-1 on the season with playoff chances still alive.
