We are less than two hours until kickoff between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Vanderbilt Commodores at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Even though the coaching staff is preparing for the Commodores, they still were able to land a commitment on the recruiting trail before the game.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, 2027 cornerback Nash Johnson III has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback, chose Alabama over the Georgia Bulldogs, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Vanderbilt Commodores.

In his commitment post, Johnson posted, "Bama Bound."

According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, Johnson is a three-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 551 overall player, the No. 55 cornerback, and the No. 62 player in the state of Georgia. Nash Johnson III attends McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia.

He picked up several offers recently, including the Auburn Tigers, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Vanderbilt Commodores. Johnson attended Alabama's school camp in June 2025, where he received an offer from the Crimson Tide.

He marks the fourth commitment for Alabama in the 2027 class, joining:

4-Star Edge Jabarrius Garror
4-Star IOL Jatori Williams
4-Star WR Alexander Ward

Alabama now has the No. 8 recruiting class in the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Alabama is already 1-0 against Vanderbilt on the recruiting trail on Saturday. Can the Crimson Tide make it 2-0 with the game on the field?
