Shoppers Visit Bath Christmas Market

With a number of looming events this weekend, I have had the hardest time shopping this week.  I've gone online but not without the fear that the items I need will be delivered too late, even when paying for expedited shipping.

My daughter has a gymnastics recital Friday. I have gone store to store in search of something as simple as a plain white leotard/unitard.  I know that many of the dance academies have stores, but they either don't have the leotard or they haven't been open.

I expressed to a friend that although I enjoy leisure shopping, most of the time that I go shopping, it's for something specific; and I get frustrated when I can't find it.  I did find a dress to wear to the WTUG Christmas Celebration, and I think the reason I found it so fast is because I don't put as much effort into myself as I put into my daughter.  Am I expected to be top of the line?  Probably.  Do I care to be? Not really.  As long as my daughter is happy, healthy, and receives the best care I can provide, my goal for myself is being presentable (not necessarily the one that's going to turn heads, if that makes sense).

With that being said, what kind of shopper are you?

Do you go the cheap route on clothes but spend a pretty penny on shoes?  Personally, I'm a fan of accessories.  I love scarves, earrings, purses, etc.  Any of these can make a less expensive outfit look well put-together.  I prefer shopping for others over shopping for myself because I'm extremely picky when it comes to myself: I don't care for tops with buttons (for obvious reasons), I hate seams down the middle of anything, etc. I'd also rather have an object in mind, get it, and get out of the store than to wander aimlessly.  When I don't have a particular target, I tend to spend too much money on unnecessary "cute" items. Every now and then, I run across something that I know will work perfectly with something I already have, and I have to get it.

I know some people that could shop every day of their lives and never get tired.  That is soooo not me.  I have too many other things to do.

What about you? Are you the clearance queen/king? Thrift/consignment guru? Is the top of the line the only line you'll toe? Tell us about your shopping personality and habits.
