WATCH: Nick Saban Postgame Press Conference After Win Over Charleston Southern
Alabama coach Nick Saban said there are two ways a team can come out to play in a game like Saturday’s against Charleston Southern. The Crimson Tide played the preferable one in its 56-6 win.
“I was really pleased with the way our guys came out today,” coach Nick Saban said during his postgame press conference. “Sometimes we have played a little lackluster in games like this, especially this time of year. With the players, I told them if you’re not inspired to play every play that you play, then you’re kind of cheating yourself because you’re not who you are and how you compete. I certainly was pleased with the way we went out there and executed well.”
Alabama (10-1, 6-1 SEC), which held complete control throughout the game, led 49-0 at halftime, before coasting to the finish in the second half.
After the game, Saban answered questions about running back Derrick Henry and cornerback Cyrus Jones, who were two reasons for the big early lead. Both players scored a pair of touchdowns each in the first half.
Saban was also asked about preparations for next week’s regular-season finale at Auburn, a must-win game for the Crimson Tide in order to secure the SEC West title and a berth in the SEC Championship Game against Florida.
