Some evangelical Christians endorse a faulty viewpoint that goes like this: "If you will just trust God, and if your faith is right, and if you think right, then everything will be all right. God will simply deliver you." In the end God will deliver each of us unto Himself in heaven, but this view does not adequately portray the Christan lifestyle, especially when adversity strikes. Often when trouble appears, it stays for a season of time. Paul struggled over the idea of having what he called a " thorn in the flesh". We do not know what caused Paul's distress, only that God used it to draw the apostle closer to Himself.
