UA Student Being Investigated for Beating a Cat with a Belt

Tuscaloosa Police say that a University of Alabama student is now under investigation after posting a video of himself beating a cat with a belt on social media.

The graphic video shows what looks to be vomit on a bedspread. The suspect then grabs the cat by the neck and holds the animal down as he starts hitting it repeatedly with a belt. He continues to hit the cat even as it is flailing in mid-air.

Authorities said investigators have not yet located the suspect but plan to release his name as soon as a warrant is issued and charges are filed.
