The Tuscaloosa Police Department has a warrant out for former Alabama football player Le'Ron McClain for trafficking synthetic marijuana, which is also known as 'spice.'

TPD shared an update on Facebook Wednesday afternoon to help locate McClain after his mother said he left the state.

West Alabama Narcotics Task Force is trying to locate Le’Ron Demar McClain, 29 years old, of Tuscaloosa for trafficking in synthetic controlled substance. During an investigation involving McClain Narcotic Agents recovered 122 grams of Spice “Synthetic Marijuana”. Agents met with McClain at the Tuscaloosa Police Department this morning and informed him that he would have a warrant for his arrest as soon as the chemical test results came back from the lab later today. Agents told McClain to not leave Tuscaloosa. A warrant was issued for 1 Count of Trafficking In Synthetic Controlled Substance this afternoon (11/05/14). Tuscaloosa Police patrol officers tried to serve the warrant at his mother’s residence at approximately 5:00 pm this evening. McClain’s mother stated he left the state this afternoon.

McClain, a Tuscaloosa native, played under Mike Shula at Alabama from 2003-2006 and just finished a seven-year career in the NFL that included two Pro Bowl appearances. During that time, he played for the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and most recently with the San Diego Chargers.

UPDATE: McClain has been arrested in Tuscaloosa according to the TPD.
