With just over a month until the inaugural Tuscaloosa Half Marathon runs, Volunteer Coordinator Ross Massey told Townsquare Media Wednesday that the event is still looking for volunteers.

Read Bama Read and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Tuscaloosa have combined efforts to put on the event, entitled “Run Toward Recovery,” to raise money that will go directly to rebuilding playgrounds and libraries that were affected by the tornado of April 27, 2011.

Massey said they recently passed the midway point toward their goal of 250 volunteers. There are no age requirements for donating your time and responsibilities could include running water stations, course marshaling, or aiding at the finish line.
