Timing Is Everything . . . .

I am sure that you have heard the expression, "Timing is everything." According to the scriptures, good timing applies to our words and speech also. Think of the time when the Lord used you to bring a timely word to refresh someone, or when you desired to speak, but it was wiser to remain silent.

Knowing the correct time to speak is worthwhile for both the speaker and hearer, whether they are words of love, encouragement, or rebuke. Keeping silent also has its place and time. When you are tempted to deride, belittle, or slander someone, you should remain silent, recognizing the proper time for silence.

It is often hard to know what to say and when to say it. The Spirit of God will assist you to be discerning. He will help you use the right words at the right time and in the right manner, for the good of others and for His honor.
