With basketball winding down at the University of Alabama, baseball and softball are just getting fired up. Rhodes stadium will come alive on March 23rd but not with the usual Bama champs taking the field.

This time the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) will challenge the Alabama All-Star team to a 9-inning slow pitch softball game. This event is free and open to the public.

The Alabama All-Star Team will include Cory Reamer, Carson Tinker, Tyrone Prothro, Prince Wimbley, Baron Huber, Roger Shultz, Wesley Britt, Antoine Pettway, Leah White, Jaz Lunceford, Emily Currie, Cassie Reilly-Boccia and more.

The Alabama vs. Auburn softball game, also Kayla Braud’s Senior Day game will start at 1pm Saturday followed by the match-up between the WWAST vs. Bama All-Stars!

As noted on their website, “The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team mission is to raise awareness, through exhibition and celebrity softball games, of the sacrifices and resilience of our military, and highlight their ability to rise above any challenge. Our goal is to show other amputees and the general population, that these athletes through extensive rehabilitation and training are able to express their desires and perform the sport they loved.”
