The Black Warrior Film Festival will be held on April 13th in various parts of Reese Phifer Hall on the UA campus and should run from 10:30am until around 10pm. 

The focus of the festival is to celebrate student made films and independent projects produced at the University of Alabama, giving student filmmakers a chance to have their work viewed by the UA and Tuscaloosa communities.

1:00-2:00 PM - Master Class on Editing with Angelo Corrao - 180 Reese Phifer
In this master class, participants will explore the delicate balance between the need for structure and artistic expression in documentary. Angelo Corrao is an award winning editor who has worked on films such as Dog Day Afternoon, Reds and TV series Damages. Sign up here.

2:00-3:00 PM - RED Camera Workshop with Keith Tippit - Studio A Reese Phifer
In this hands on workshop with professional cinematographer Keith Tippit, participants will learn the best practices of filming with RED® cameras, discuss technical specs & RED® workflow, and learn about Keith Tippit’s commercial work shot using this rig. Sign up here.

2:00-3:00 PM - Post-production Workshop with TUBE Creative, Atlanta - 130 Reese Phifer
In this workshop, professionals, including UA alumni Chris Downs, from Atlanta-based TUBE Creative will discuss the transition from student editor to working on the staff of a professional post-production firm. Sign up here.

5:00-6:00 PM - Panel on the Role of Film Festivals in Indie Film - 216 Reese Phifer The Film Festival Panel will feature Sidewalk Executive Director Chloe Collins, Sidewalk Lead Programmer Rachel Morgan, Filmmaker Nick Corrao and Filmmaker/Juror C.K. Lichenstein II. Discussion topics will include what makes a film fest movie, how student filmmakers can benefit from a festival, programs available for student filmmakers at festivals, and how a film festival is organized.

6:00-7:00 PM - Dinner for Filmmakers, Speakers & Staff - Reese Phifer Rotunda (credentials required)

7:00-8:00 PM - Master Class with the makers of Marble Hornets - 216 Reese Phifer Created by Troy Wagner and Joseph Delage, “Marble Hornets” has more than 250,000 subscribers on Youtube with over 55 million views and over 65 episodes. Mosaic plans to produce a feature film based on the web series.
