The University of Alabama, college football's most prestigious school, has lost the most distinguished member of its family. Athletics Director Mal Moore passed away Saturday morning at the age of 73.

Two days after news broke that Mal Moore would step down as The University of Alabama's athletics director, the school will name Bill Battle as his successor at a press conference Friday.
