It's amazing the lengths some people will go through to get a discount, but one of the most despicable is stolen valor.

Stolen valor is when a person fraudulently claim military activity with the intention of benefitting from perceived service. Stolen valor is illegal, punishable with fines and up to a year in prison.  Yet, this fact is not enough to keep some from trying it. Such may be the case of this lady, who was recorded by P.J. Campbell right here in Tuscaloosa.

This video was originally posted sideways on Campbell's Facebook page but was shared by Guardian of Valor.

I don't know enough about the military or its terminology to know if anything he said proved his point; but I do think that if this woman was not a veteran, she was very disrespectful to those who have served to protect our freedoms.

Is stolen valor a common occurrence?
