Alabama could be impacted by two rounds of severe storms in the coming week; severe storms are likely Saturday and Tuesday/Wednesday as well. Rain is likely today and tomorrow evening as well, and the first window for severe storms will be Saturday. ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann describes the forceast in great detail in the latest ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video above.

Spann also notes on the ABC 33/40 Weather Blog: "It won't rain all day [Saturday], and the sun could break out at times...Forecast parameters suggest all modes of severe weather will be possible, including hail, strong straight line winds, and a few isolated tornadoes...It is impossible to give you start/stop times for rain at any specific location… just understand where storms develop, they could be strong to severe."

We'll keep you updated with the latest forecasts and information as these severe weather events unfold. Late April is peak tornado season for our area, so it's always a good idea to plan ahead--make sure you and your family have a severe weather plan in place so you'll be prepared.
