A heads up, the National Weather Service office in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10pm Tuesday (3/31). The watch area includes most of West Alabama.

    • Bibb
    • Fayette
    • Pickens
    • Tuscaloosa

The reason for the Severe Thunderstorm Watch explained by the NWS:

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS ALL OF CENTRAL ALABAMA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...GENERALLY BETWEEN NOON AND 9 PM. THE THREATS WILL BE LARGE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH. THE STORMS WILL DEVELOP IN THE VICINITY OF A QUASI STATIONARY FRONT WITH SOME ENHANCEMENT FROM AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE.
