Severe storms are forecast to impact West Alabama late tonight and early tomorrow morning. Storms are projected to impact our listening area between 11pm and 6am. This line of storms is expected to bring damaging winds and isolated tornadoes, and our area currently is at the highest risk for this severe weather event.

ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann writes on the  ABC 33/40 Weather Blog, "The core risk of severe weather in Alabama will come from midnight tonight through 6:00 a.m. tomorrow [...] All modes of severe weather are possible over Northwest Alabama (the moderate risk area)… including the threat of damaging straight line winds, hail, and a few isolated tornadoes. As the storms move eastward, the primary risk becomes straight line winds over North-Central and West-Central Alabama (the slight risk area), although an isolated tornado can’t be totally ruled out."
