Riches . . . .

Publicly operated lotteries exist in more than 100 countries. In recent years, lottery ticket sales have totaled more than $86 billion in just the United States and Canada, only part of the total sales worldwide. The attraction of large jackpots has created a mindset among many that all of life's troubles can be solved if only you can win the lottery.

Nothing is wrong with wealth itself, but it has the power to deceive us into thinking that money is the best answer to all of our needs. The psalmist, expressed a rather different point of view, "I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches." This concept of spiritual treasure is focused on obedience to God and walking " in the path of His commandments."

What if we were as excited about following the Lord's Word as we are about winning a jackpot worth millions? The riches of obedience, true riches, belong to all who will walk with the Lord.
