One patient at UAB Hospital is being treated for Ebola-like symptoms, and eight others are being quarantined or monitored.

Update: The patient and responders have tested negative for Ebola.

The patient, who was brought into the hospital Tuesday night, is said to have recently traveled to West Africa. According to WBRC, Alabama Public Health Officer, Dr. Don Williamson, said 7-10 people are monitored each week in Alabama based on their travel from areas where Ebola is a concern.

As of now, the case in Birmingham is not confirmed as Ebola. Yet, necessary precautions are being taken. Full story.
