Over 50 years later

Well finally a former student at Ole Miss/The University of Mississippi has been indicted on a charge of hanging a noose on the statue of James Meredith. A black student who in1962 became the first black to attend the University of Mississippi. At that time it took Federal Marshalls to escort him to school where all hell broke out. The Justice Department says this shameful and ignorant act is an insult to all Americans and a violation of our most strongly held values. Well this incident happened in 2014 and after all this time there was no state charges filed only Federal charges. That just shows how far we have come. We certainly have a long way to go.
