The infamous picture of Nick Saban wearing a Luigi hat started making the rounds on Wednesday morning following the head coach's trip to ESPN. Now we finally get some context for the offseason's best image.

Radio and television personality Colin Cowherd brings guests into an equipment and props cage for a segment he calls 'Cage Confessional.' During that segment, he gets athletes, coaches and celebrities to open up about the most personal issues, such as Santa Claus.

"When I was a kid, I was very afraid of Santa Claus," Saban told Cowherd. "We had to stay up until midnight on Christmas Eve to open presents and Santa used to always come in and I always used to cry."

From there, Cowherd made the seamless transition from Bear Bryant wearing a houndstooth hat to Nick Saban donning the bright green Luigi hat. He only wore it for a few seconds, but that image will give us a lifetime of happiness.

Like every 'Cage Confessional', the video ends with the interviewee sharing a confession. Saban's explained how his career in sports began.

"The reason I got involved in sports, when I was 9-years-old, is my grandmother made me play accordion. So to get out of accordion practice, I decided to go out for little league baseball."

And the rest, as they say, is history.
