Nick Saban Set for His 10th A-Day Game at Alabama [VIDEO]
It probably doesn't feel like it for most, but Nick Saban will take the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium for his 10th A-Day game as head coach of Alabama. It's a milestone practically everyone outside of Tuscaloosa never thought would happen.
And the head coach didn't forget it.
"So this is my 10th A-Day, and nobody here ever thought that I would be here for a 10th A-Day," Saban said. "If I can get you guys to tell the truth, which would probably be difficult."
Practices are complete for his 10th spring camp, and fans will get their first look at the newest Crimson Tide team on Saturday. There will still be some questions about the roster and some unsettled position battles, but Saban likes what they were able to accomplish the past few weeks.
"I've been really pleased, in some ways, with the progress that we've been able to make this spring," Saban said. "A lot of turns, a lot of reps for a lot of players, and I think that those players have improved.
He cautions that the team is far from a finished product, and he pointed to last year's team, which lacked leadership at this same time last year.
"I think we have a long way to go as a team. I think every spring you always find out a lot about your team, and your team is always in the development stages. It's a work in progress in terms of getting where you want to go."
The 2016 A-Day game will kickoff at 2pm on ESPN and gates will open at 11am.
