The celebrity list of who’s who playing in this Wednesday’s Regions Tradition NCR Pro-Am is quite impressive.  

New this year, Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl will tee it up at Shoal Creek alongside other popular SEC coaches, including Nick Saban, Gus Malzahn and Hugh Freeze.

Also, making her first appearance in the state of Alabama, theGolf Channel’s Morning Drive co-host Holly Sonders will play in a group with football and baseball legend Bo Jackson who is returning for this year’s Regions Tradition. Taking a break from the NBA playoffs, Charles Barkley will tee off with Coach Bruce Pearl in one of the morning tee times.

The celebrity pro-am is always an exciting way to kick-off the Regions Tradition. With Barkley and Pearl teeing off in the same group, fans are sure to be entertained.  And in addition to Coaches Saban, Malzahn and Freeze, we’re pleased to have the Golf Channel’s Holly Sonders playing in a group with Bo Jackson. We hope fans take advantage of all of these top celebs and coaches in one place and enjoy watching some great golf, all to benefit Children’s of Alabama.

Celebrities will be paired with some of the biggest names in Champions Tour golf including Rocco Mediate, Kenny Perry, Fred Couples, Nick Price, and David Frost.

Below are the celebrity tee times:

  • 8:40 am – Coach Gus Malzahn and Kenny Perry
  • 8:50 am – Coach Bruce Pearl, Charles Barkley and Fred Couples
  • 9:00 am – Coach Hugh Freeze and defending champion, David Frost
  • 12:00 pm – Coach Nick Saban and Rocco Mediate
  • 12:10 pm – Holly Sonders, Bo Jackson and Nick Price

Standing on the first tee box to greet the celebrities and pros teeing off in the morning will be patients from Children’s of Alabama. Since 2011, the Regions Tradition has donated more than $2 million to Children’s of Alabama and local charities.

This year’s Regions Tradition, the first of five Champions Tour majors this season, will take place at Shoal Creek on May 14-18 with a purse of $2.2 million. Tickets start at only $15 and can be purchased at regionstradition.com. As always, juniors 18 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
