The NCAA Tournament came to a close last night with a thrilling 82-76 victory for Louisville over Michigan, but the Cardinals weren't the only winner. When the dust finally settled on our NCAA Bracket Challenge, we had a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard with 41 correct picks.

With Scott Shepherd and PJ the DJ being employees, they were ineligible for the grand prize. It came down to Kelly Kott of Northport and Jeremy Rohr of Ohio for our two prizes, and Rohr took home the grand prize of a $100 Best Buy gift card for picking Louisville to win it all and came closest with a tiebreaking total score of 155. Kott wins a box of Alabama football cards from Upper Deck for her second place finish.

The other story line from the contest was the competition between all of our on-air staff. As I mentioned, Scott Shepherd from 95.3 the Bear now owns bragging rights throughout the building, although there might be some controversy over whether he actually filled out his own bracket. Here's how the everything looked after Monday night:

This year might have been the craziest tournament in quite a few years and our picks reflected that. Just take a look at these stats:

  • Out of everyone signed up, only one person correctly picked more than 1 of the 4 Final Four teams, and that person picked only two. No one got 3 or 4 correct.
  • Only half of the entries picked one correct Final Four team.
  • So that also means that half of the pool failed to pick a single Final Four team.

Thanks to everyone that participated. We had a great time tracking the contest!
